Touring Andalucia
Considered to be one of the most exclusive resorts in the Mediterranean, Marbella is a combination of modern buildings and shops, marbled seafront promenades and old town. The old town is a delightful maze of historic buildings and cobbled streets leading to the famous Plaza de Los Naranjos where you can enjoy delicious seafood or other Spanish, Italian, English and French cuisine. Alternatively, you can dine in one of the numerous tapas bars or one of the many restaurants overlooking the port.

The beautiful Parque Alameda, situated in the heart of Marbella at the top of the Avenida del Mar, is host to various cultural events throughout the year including the Marbella Feria. The Paseo Maritimo provides opportunities to enjoy views of the local beach and beyond to Gibraltar and Africa.

Marbella Festivals
A number of annual festivals are celebrated in Marbella including:-
Parade of The Three Wise Men - celebrated on the 5th of January, followed by Three Wise Men Day on the 6th. The large parade has many decorated floats, and sweets and candy are distributed to children at the roadside.
San Bernabé Fair - Marbella’s annual celebration of its patron saint where both locals and visitors turn out in large numbers to enjoy a variety of street-based activities inluding singing, dancing, drinking and eating.

Puerto Banus
Beyond Marbella is bustling Puerto Banus, a haven for luxury yachts and the rich and famous. Here, you will find a fascinating blend of people, boutiques, exclusive fashion shops, restaurants and nightclubs. Enjoy the favourite pastime of 'people-watching' from a marina-side café or partake in nightlife that often continues until dawn.

For market lovers both Puerto Banus and Marbella host huge weekly markets where you can buy anything from clothing, linen and Spanish handicrafts to ceramics and leather goods. Alternatively, visit other markets that take place along the coast on different days of the week.

Mountain Towns and Villages
Historic Ronda, one of Andalucia’s lovliest towns, is approximately one hours drive from the coast. It is situated in a fertile valley set high in the mountainous region of Sierra de Nievas. Ronda is famous for its breath-taking river gorge, spanned by a magnificent bridge which divides the medieval town from the 18th century parts of the town. Enjoy the spectacular walkway along the top of the river gorge with superb views of the countryside below or the beautiful gardens of the 18th century palace - Casa Del Ray. The town is also famous for its bullring, the oldest and one of the most beautiful in Spain.

Picturesque Mijas with its white washed buildings and beautiful views of the Mediterranean coast, is half an hour’s drive from the villa. In the attractive village square, you will find a variety of shops selling an array of handicrafts and leather goods. Donkeys or horse drawn carriages take tourists on rides through the village.

Other Areas
To the west of Marbella is the town of Estepona with its lovely churches, town square and newly-built port. Beyond lies the Rock of Gibraltar where you can take a cable car to see the Barbary apes and enjoy the magnificent views of the Spanish and African coasts. A large population of dolphins can be found in the Bay of Gibraltar. Take a boat trip to see the dolphins swimming and playing in the warm Mediterranean waters. Some two or a half hour's drive inland from Marbella is the beautiful city of Granada which has many old and lovely buildings. Visit spectacular Alhambra Palace, considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, or just enjoy the ambience of all that is essentially Spain
